Fix or Nix? | Georgetown

Dollar signs come to mind when something breaks down.  You're not in the mood to spend more money; at the same time, the problem isn't going to get better.  What are you going to do about the situation?  Are you going to repair or replace?

Repair

If you choose home repair, the product or appliance is usually in fair or good condition.  Common problems are found in the instructions handbook and are easy to fix.  If it's not in the manual, the cost to repair is more affordable than buying a new one.  Most repairs are minor and include labor and parts.  Whether the warranty will cover the repair or not is a tossup.  It has to fall within the warranty dates and fulfill requirements.  Another reason why you choose repair is sentimental value; a unique family heirloom or a retro item that's irreplaceable will drive you to go with a repair to keep it around longer.
